Annette Funicello, then 13 years old, was found to be a child by Walt Disney in an amateur show called Swan Lake performed in Fullerton California. Funicello wasn't asked to audition when she joined in the Mickey Mouse Club cast in the very first season of the show, much to her Mickey Mouse Club colleagues' disappointment. Disney made the right decision and she soon became The Mickey Mouse Club's highest performer, with her own Adventures in Dairyland storyline. Funicello needed to record records in order to increase her fame capacity. Annette was not very excited about the idea of her voice, and so Disney enlisted Tutti camerata as her manager who would assist her in becoming a singer. Funicello began to enjoy recordings and collaborated together with Camerata who was one of the only forty-something arranging professionals of the time, and who understood the fundamentals of early musical styles. Annette Sings Anka - her third studio album was the very first to use the songs of a rock musician as a selection of songs. Funicello's first beach party film, Beach Party was produced by AIP. Walt Disney personally examined the scripts and granted his approval to each one to ensure that Annette to keep her pristine appearance.
